Happy 15th TTM. I remember the first song I recorded fot the Kristal Challenge in 2005. It had bass and vocals and I uploaded it on the old dial-up. How things have changed...I have learned so much from you all and made many friends here.  :)

Just got it for $10 at Habitat thrift store very clean Shady Grove Church owned it before me  :) Works great lol maxed at 1gb ram has a 10gb hd Mac OS X 10.3.9 it needed a DVD drive borrowed one from another computer added an extra 160gb hd .... stock picture ..... I'm lazy. What a crazy looking boat anchor  :P might try to add iLife 4 to it ? Garage Band ?

It was worth $10 as it is just to examine  8) This is a very limited computer to upgrade the processor would be something for a masochist , (Yep that's the same unit as this in the article) so it will be a another conversation piece here in the lab. Updating the OS would not do much for it either ... imho sans running a few programs like Reaper , which run better on a $20 PC with XP  Only 2 usb 1 ports is lame 2 firewire ports are usless but if you have a $200 Firewire interface  :o the cpu would be the bottleneck itself .....  :P . I'm biased but this computer is a dog compared to the XP computers of it's era , mostly because of it's unbreakable OS. Great for the kids but too tame for reckless adults.

The neat thing is  it runs walks Garageband 1  8) ...... er ..... roughly  :-X
3 instruments with it's softsynth loops  .....bogs ..... it  ............. down pretty good. I could see someone creating some interesting tunes with it though ....... as long as your not in a hurry. Editing really is slow. If your bored it's better than band in a box if your wanting to goof around with an electronic sideman. It is worth $10 just to play with the Garageband. I'd recommend a newer model to fully use Garageband

It's too noisy to record with a mic , in the same room with the tower. but , it does hook up to the old Tascam 122 Frontier usb 1 interface pretty well lol ..... just did that to see if it would work.   ;D
