They would have to tell you that, Way2, because it's not your account.  I checked, though, and it's still there.  Can't see what the problem might be...  :(

Don't know what the problem might be, Way2,but I'm not thinking too well these days.  On the other hand, as I mentioned the other day, you might want to start using a different email address, because the TTM emails will be leaving soon...

A little project of mine
« on: April 24, 2020, 06:31:31 AM »
Hi all

Hope you’re all keep safe and 2 metres away from me.

Anyway, I’ve been going over my old camcorder cassettes and concerting then to digital files on laptop. It’s tedious but fun.

I went to Australia in 1996 and borrowed a mates video camera. It was bulky and a pain to use, but I got some good footage as we toured around NSW, Victoria, up through the centre, then Northern Territory, across time Queensland and back to NSW.

I’ve used Movie Maker to edit the videos, add captions, remove expletives, etc. Then upload to YouTube for family and friend to see.

Here is the playlist so far, if anyone fancies a gander:

More videos to come. I’ve learnt better techniques as I’ve been going, so the presentation will probably improve throughout.😆

good memories Al.

Wilsons Promontory took me back to my childhood.  We used to go there to the Tidal River camping ground every second Christmas Holidays with around three families and many kids.  Great times.  Do you remember the next beach along "Squeaky beach" - just a walk over the hill to the West.  White sand that squeaked as you walked on it.  Brilliant.

Thanks for sharing

Hi Dino

I don’t remember squeaky beach. Unless it’s in my video. Unfortunately we didn’t keep a journal or anything and have to rely on memories and the videos on where we went (and why).

It was a great period of my life. I often wish I could have somehow stayed and lived in Oz - fantastic people, culture, way of like, beaches, sense of humour, weather, etc. But UK residents could only get a year visa.

I also wish I had more video footage because there’s some gaps of places we went to. No video of Canberra, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Whitsundays or around the cities. The camera was heavy and didn’t wanna get it out where water was around.

It’s been great googling all the places and learning more about them (and also the wildlife). We didn’t really appreciate what we were seeing at the time (as you can tell my our demeanour and remarks on camera).
