Layout help!
« on: March 14, 2020, 08:08:45 PM »
Hey everyone! I was messing about on Reaper last week and clicked something and now its all laid out differently  :o
The tracks are smaller, the record button toolbar etc is all up the top instead of down the bottom um...heres a screenshot of what I've done...lol

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qKuXsFQwMjyCz4HUUyxXv_wt-ZkPaH7X

And this is sorta how I had it before...I couldn't find any pics of what it was like before, but I never changed it since I started using it so its whatever the default is...This is a pic of the closest i can find

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1VULmz2WHwROfu-wRg8A-p7sJLWaL8zsp

I hope someones got some ideas, thanks in advance! :D

f you have a later version of Reaper installed say V6.04, this is what I might do

Click Options tab

At the bottom of the list select "Themes"

There are a few options to select

Default
Default 4.0
Default 5.0
Classic_1.x

I have always set to Default 4.0

Here is a screenshot of my project layout on that setting.

Maybe that will help  :-\

I'm a Default_4.0 man myself Dino :P :P

Possibly 'cause it looks similar to the way I had Kristal back when I started :)

K8, if you go to the Cockos(Reaper) website there's all sorts of different layouts people have made available to download.....
Alternatively, under Options-Layout menue you can mess with your own for whatever suits your workflow, then just save it as your template....then you can tell Reaper under Options-Preferences-Project to load that template automatically when starting a new project :)

Reaper is sooooo customizable it's crazy :)

As long as it’s not green and dripping you’ll be fine.....

Oh....wait.....wrong website 😜

Everyone sets it up a little different based on what works for them I guess.....
Dino and I are both Default 4.0 but if you look close even they’re slightly different  :)

I can deal with the layout mostly, its just the fact the tracks are all really tiny now and you have to zoom in a lot!

I checked the theme thing out in the options but it didn't help but I figured out I can drag the boundaries of the tracks on the left to make them wider so the track isnt so tiny...so thatll work for now lol

$.02USD..  click on track(s) and drag to enlarge/reduce.  Hit the 'tilde' key, that's the ` to the left of the 1 on the keyboard.  That wshould take whatever track is selected back to its previous states.

Just a couple of thoughts.

Regards,
Gordon

Now I see your problem lol

You can adjust the vertical height of the tracks in the far left control panel....

Just hover the mouse over the dividing line between the tracks, t think it changes the pointer to an arrow - click and drag to expand the track 🙂

Reaper shortcut info:  https://user.cockos.com/~glazfolk/ReaperKeyboardShortcuts.pdf

right column lists track size stuff.  Some work on selected tracks...others are 'global'.
