Great DAW Learning Series Youtube
« on: July 24, 2019, 09:19:02 AM »
TTM,

It's crazy how many YT channels I've subscribed to and bookmarks I have that have never been revisited!! It either speaks to either the "have to have it now" thing or a complete lack of routine and organization!

Just (re)found a great tutorial series called reapermania. While all the examples are done in reaper I would think that the theory is transferable.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq297H7Ca98HlB5mVFHGSsQ

Wanted to pass it along. FPP - favorite price point!

Went to subscribe and I ALREADY HAD!! No recollectiton of it at all!!

Based on what I've heard it sounds like many of you are all set in this area but for me and those just starting it will be a great source.

No matter how good(or not) you are, there’s always something to learn  ;D

Just ask Ags about drums  :P :P

Nice find though  ~:)

It's funny... I've been using Studio One 2 for quite a while and only recently went back to reaper. I thought reaper sounded better but imagine that is just my ears playing tricks on me.

Don't know why but I seem to like reaper better. The onboard effects of Studio One win hands down but how many am I really going to use? I've already D/L'd most of the free vsts I'll need and will start loading them into reaper shortly.

I've been going through some of the reaper tutorials on line and realize I have so much to learn! My knowledge of recording is like a slice of swiss cheese. There's so much missing.

Given that, I am very excited to improve. Just went through how to set recording levels with kenny gioia. reaper mania. It was great! Straight forward super clear, easily understood! Also watched his vid on mastering and started his beginner series "how to record your band in reaper".

I felt as though my production was always lacking or very hit or miss. I am still using my alesis multimix 8 but some of the channels are going. Once it keels over I am going to get the behringer U-phoria 404 interface. It has received stellar reviews and some tech guy did a test and was very impressed with it's quietness. Interesting article on it below...
