With a decent FTP program (I use "Core FTP") it's kind of easy to check and see if any files on the site have been updated that shouldn't have been just by checking the file dates...

Ag, I did find one of the forum files that had a modification date of just a few months ago, which it shouldn't have.  So I checked and it had a hack line in it.  I took that out, and just waited to see if it helped at all...

That would be nice, Ag.  Better than our 3 more feet in the last 2 days and 40-45 mph winds to drift and bank.  Big drifts and half frozen.  Lucky I hired a plow guy this year (last fall)...

I'm going to go ahead and post this, but realize that it needs some work.  I am going to make some fairly big changes to it.  For one, my family says the Irish accent thing has to go!

Good song BD

Regarding the Irish accent...I dont think its too over the top, although the word "old" in your introduction sounds a wee bit phony and codish, otherwise it sounds quite authentic.

Being born in Ireland and living most of my life in Scotland, I have to laugh at some of the attempts at these accents, as most are just so OTT its ridiculous.

I`m not sure why you want to include the spoken intro as the song stands on its own very well, but if you really want to keep it, then I might tone down the word"old".

Just my opinion but I hope it helps!!

Good song, BD.  Cotton mentioned possibly not doing to the spoken intro, and I would agree with that, except you never know what might or might not be an interesting or 'catchy' part of a song.

Personally, I might just delete everything up to 0:37 and start there.  But that's just me, and like I said, you don't know till you actually put it out there for some listener feedback.

Either way, I like it, and the Irish accent thing doesn't bother me...

I'm sure Ag would love the visit, Neil, but when you get there he would definitely let you know that it's "nacho beer"...  (-!)

Thanks everyone! If anyone else has additional comments, let me know.

As of right now, I think I am going to keep the older 33RPM vinyl feel for the first part, but cut out the talking. Doing a dichotomy of old and new was the original concept, and I think I want to stick with that. The vocals need better mixing and I may rerecord them as well.

I like it. I like the difference between the two halves, almost as if you were challenged to do that.  ;)

I see where you were going with the talking but I would suggest either leaving it out or adding some pub background noise so it sounds live. That's where I picture a talking performer.
