I've had a nasty cold that made me hoarse but today I felt much better and was able to sing!  Not well but I really enjoyed being able to practice at lunch. :)

I suggested to Matthias that he finally close the Kristal forum as it is still a haven for spam that I have to clean up each day. It looks lilke he did it...

I heard Damon Albarn had recorded an entire Gorrilaz album using Garageband on his iPad.  I don't own any Apple devices, so I thought I'd look into what options are available on Android and I came across this little gem.

It costs £5.99 to unlock the full version (around $9 USD), however it's rather good for something I picked up just to mess around with on my lunch break.  It's definitely more aimed at EDM creators, but it comes with a bunch of very flexible synths which you can make some really cool sounds with.  It works by making patterns (which you can make as 1, 2 4 or 8 measures) and then sequence those patterns to make a song.

There's a free version available to download for Windows (XP and above).  Being free, there's no technical support for that version, but it is exactly the same as the versions available for mobile, so if you want to check it out and not pay anything, then you can.  It's good fun, so I recommend checking it out.

I believe it offers the ability to live record as well, but this isn't really a goer on Android with its inherent issue with latency.

Looks interesting...not sure i'd have much use for it though lol
Would be useful if I had an android phone maybe....for "messing about on lunch" as you say... :)

The Windows version is free (albeit, no technical support).  I've got my first project underway with it.  It's very intuitive and good fun to use.
