Wasn't meant to be a hint but if your friend had tickets to a show somewhere near his place, anď if I'm in the neighborhood anyway at a coincidentally opportune time....😉

New Gear day - Roland Cube
« on: June 10, 2015, 05:17:49 AM »
Today I was just fossicking around in our work storage are and saw this little Roland Cube 15 sitting in a pile of dust.

Asked my boss about it and he said "someone was using my rehearsal studio some time ago and they just left two of these there and didn't come back or ask me for them".

Soooo.. I said, "Okay, I might snaffle that and if they ever come back and ask for it then I can bring it back".

Cool :) :)

Don't know if it works or has crackles but I just grabbed it.

Couple of photos attached.

4 OD stages eh? It looks like a mini-metal-monster to me.

Sounds like?

Have to wait till weekend to test with volume but turned it on tonight and it works fine.  No crackle in the pots.

The two "metal" settings are a little noisy but once I try and balance the Gain and Volume controls, it may reduce that noise.

It also has a "Recording Out" jack so I will also have to test that one as a DI to mixer I suppose.

I am surprised that it even worked considering it had been sitting in dust for a year or so.

Happy. :)

Nice find :)

Sweet!  Cool little amps.  I bet the DI out gets a pretty rich tone (at least compared to the 8" spkr).  Reliable amp.  Small & solid state...but I'm gaining a new appreciation for small SS amps.  Good one.
