Wasn't meant to be a hint but if your friend had tickets to a show somewhere near his place, anď if I'm in the neighborhood anyway at a coincidentally opportune time....😉

Other / Soundproofing
« on: May 18, 2019, 06:01:29 PM »
hey everyone!

Im looking to try and sound proof my room a bit mainly from incoming noise from the neighbours and also I'd like it if they couldnt hear my singing (bit self conscious lol)...Now It needs to be fairly cheap and easy to put up so I initially thought about using foam tiles on the wall that adjoins to their house, but I read reviews saying it doesnt really work very well, so now am unsure what to do. I dont fancy building a stud wall as I cant really loose any space, so I am open to a wall covering of some variety that will help...Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thank you in advance guys :)

Thank you Neil! It didn't used to be my cup of tea until recently :) I find it easier to make music if there isn't the pressure of writing lyrics and singing to it lol  ::->

Instrumentals / Slow Down - Another Electronic instrumental :)

Hey guys, so I've been working away at a new instrumental and I've got to say, it's quite therapeautic doing tracks like this...slot this here, put that ther, hey presto...sorta thing :D

Anyway, here's my newest track, called Slow Down....Its a bit more chilled electronic, not quite as trancey as the last one :)

I've also created a new soundcloud profile for my electronic work so I can use a slightly different alias, so this is a track from that page :)

Hope you're all well! :)

~Thank you everyone :)

I'm looking forward to having some motivation to get back to my reggae and ska music, but if im getting creative with this style, its better than not getting creative at all :) Plus its kinda satisfying seeing it all slot together...yep..im weird lol

Thank you! :D I think my OCD helps me create music like that because its all about structure...bringing instruments in, fading them out, defined sections...hehe

Hey guys..I know its been a couple of years since I was last properly active on here but up until now I've been finding it hard getting the motivation to write tbh and haven't been in the best frame of mind. I remembered back a while ago, I did an instrumental song for a challenge and I did a trance track called Trance The Dance, which I enjoyed making. If you don't know, I usually write ska and reggae songs, so this is a bit different for me lol

Well I have tried my hand again at trance, using a few loops I got from looperman :) I've already had a guy asking if he can use it on his dance record label (although not sure if he means what I think lol)

hey, still working on it! Im tempted to do a version of a few of them as i cant decide between Gamble Gold, Hard Times of Old England or All Around My Hat lol Thanks for all your kind comments...think i may use less sax for the intro, just have the main melody rather than the harmonies...less clutter :)

Hello! I'm trying to get back into songwriting now I have a bit more time on my hands (still not got a new job yet!). I keep starting songs but not getting past the first verse...decided to just go back to doing a cover song and picked Steeleye Span's song Gamble Gold (Robin Hood). I spoke to my Dad about using brass instruments to play the melody instead of a recorder and I think its gunna work lol I've just finished the idea for the intro/melody and thought I'd show ya'll :) lots to do as theres quite a lot of lyrics in their songs!

Heres mine:

and heres the original for those who need a reminder/never heard it before

Hopefully see you around a bit more ;) I know I keep saying that, but hopefully I'll get rid of this writers block!

Well it has started pretty bad, so it can't really get much worse lol gotta get my mojo back :)

Thank you guys :) I should post one when the voice is all warmed up...I'll have a blast at it on Monday when the neighbours are out lol the new neighbours are so much more noisy than the previous ones and it's very distracting lol

Heylo, so I recorded the song I used to warm up with today before I started to write a new song :)

As ever, I still love The Carpenters!

Here ya go...one backing track downloaded and one song sung!
