I was thinking too..... :o

I'm going to remove the restriction of one song per entrant. Do as many as you want and collab as many as you can handle.

The voting will have to change to voting for your favorite/best song.

Just an update: my song has changed directions so many times so far but I like where it's heading at the moment. I'm excited to see where it ends up!  I feel like I'm just along for the ride on this one.

Is the concept here specifically light and dark, or simply a dichotomy? Can it be happy/sad, old/young, or other types of contrasts? I've got an Irish song I happen to be working on that features old and new. Just wondering if that could fit in? I'm okay either way.

Looking for equal parts of contrasts lyrically as well as musically.

My tune, for example, using sad/happy contrast, has so many measures of sad feeling music to match the sad lyrics, then changes to an equal number of measures happy music to support the happy lyrics. Trying to include equal instrumental breaks so there are equal parts of each to make the whole. I'm not going to be counting the intro/outro as part of the equal.

Clear as mud?

Mine won't be exactly equal parts but the lyrical perspective goes from dark to light.

End of the day the voters will tell us which songs best captured their interpretation of the challenge.

Hmm, okay, that's fairly specific. I don't think mine will work. I'll look into other options then. I might be able to complete something if I can find the time. Work is really rocking right now.

I'm ashamed at how much work I've put into this song. You guys will hear it and think "Really? You spent hours on the lyrics but that's the best you could do?".

Yes, apparently.  :D

Mines up and is very loosely based on the Mr Roger's quote:

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news,” Rogers said to his television neighbors, “my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'”

Oops, you might be right! ??? :-X

I obviously took it as lyrically, a dark perspective on the world to a light perspective.

To be honest, I'm going to vote it in last place anyway.  ;)

Thanks. My wife listened to it and said she could definitely tell it was one of my songs as they all sound very similar. I guess I'm going to have to branch out a bit more. :/
