I'm still getting the "Livestat" pages moving between items on the site and Chrome is telling me that the site is "Not Secure".  Is it my end or a site issue?  Has anyone found a way to overcome?

Rock / Fork it...
« on: September 23, 2017, 12:42:44 PM »
Errr... stick a fork in it.
What you're suppose to say when it's done... right?
I think it is... maybe some mix issues...
Just a rock tune I've been messing around with for a bit... I think I've watched too much Game of Thrones... but there are no dragons in the song.

In Search of Humor / Google is the Devil...

Hello!  Is this Gordon's Pizza?

No sir, it's Google's Pizza.

Did I dial the wrong number?

No sir, Google bought the pizza store.

Oh, alright - then I’d like to place an order please.

Okay sir, do you want the usual?

The usual?  You know what my usual is?

According to the caller ID, the last 15 times you’ve ordered a 12-slice with double-cheese, sausage, and thick crust.

Okay - that’s what I want this time too.

May I suggest that this time you order an 8-slice with ricotta, arugula, and tomato instead?

No, I hate vegetables.

But your cholesterol is not good.

How do you know?

Through the subscribers guide.  We have the results of your blood tests for the last 7 years.

Maybe so, but I don’t want the pizza you suggest – I already take medicine for high cholesterol.

But you haven’t taken the  medicine regularly. 4 months ago you purchased from Drugsale Network a box of only 30 tablets.

I bought more from another drugstore.

It's not showing on your credit card sir.

I paid in cash.

But according to your bank statement you did not withdraw that much cash.

I have another source of cash.

This is not showing on your last tax form, unless you got it from an undeclared income source.

WHAT THE HELL?  ENOUGH!   I'm sick of Google, Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp. I'm going to an island without internet, where there’s no cellphone line, and no one to spy on me ...

I understand sir, but you’ll need to renew your passport ... it expired 5 weeks ago.

Works in Progress / Sing me a song
« on: August 13, 2017, 05:12:09 PM »
So this evolved into a song about songs and how eras go by and move on to the next. You don't really realize it much until you wake up one day and you can't relate to what's happening around you like you once could.
So it became a homage to some songs... I don't know if it's done it's still swirling around my head thinking about all the songs I left out. But then it's not about any one particular song but of the times gone by I guess. Vocals need some work still...

JOOM said it was ok sooooo. blame JOOM!  :P :P :P :P

"To use Poland as an example of as an example of freedom... mind-blowing."

May be a bit harsh to say "decay"...

Not using Poland as an example of freedom... more as an example of Poland remaining Poland. I guess that would be freedom to be who they are. Part of the reason for Brexit as well....
Not being over-run by mass migration. Not having it's culture washed away by foreigners taking over in numbers. Not having neighborhoods turned into pockets of some other country where there is no assimilation to where they've come.
It's not that different from Trumps message...
I will say I'm not a fan of the man he is the wrong messenger but I don't completely disagree with his message...
Imo opinion the two biggest opponents to Western civilization and values are PC/ SJW/ new form of Marxism and Islamic terrorism. Oddly they seem to be making strange bed fellows these days...
My Grand Parents are from Italy and Germany... I wonder how many decades until German becomes the second language in Germany? Are the immigrants assimilating or just residing and crafting the same way of life from which they came?
It's not like you're importing a bunch of scientists and engineers to help build your economy... you are inheriting mostly poor people that have little to nothing and will need everything from you just to survive.

"Political Correctness is cultural Marxism. It is Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms. It is an effort that goes back not to the 1960s and the hippies and the peace movement, but back to World War I. If we compare the basic tenets of Political Correctness with classical Marxism the parallels are very obvious."

I'm certainly not an intellect (but I did play one once in a high school play)... so I look for answer as to why things are changing here in America and around the world.
One of the people I found (who impresses the hell out of me) is Jordan Peterson...

From his website
Dr. Jordan B Peterson has been a dishwasher, gas jockey, bartender, short-order cook, beekeeper, oil derrick bit re-tipper, plywood mill labourer and railway line worker. He’s taught mythology to lawyers, doctors and businessmen, consulted for the UN Secretary General’s High Level Panel on Sustainable Development, helped his clinical clients manage depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, and schizophrenia, served as an advisor to senior partners of major Canadian law firms, identified thousands of promising entrepreneurs on six different continents, and lectured extensively in North America and Europe.

He has flown a hammer-head roll in a carbon-fiber stunt plane, piloted a mahogany racing sailboat around Alcatraz Island, explored an Arizona meteorite crater with a group of astronauts, built a Native American Long-House on the upper floor of his Toronto home, and been inducted into the coastal Pacific Kwakwaka’wakw tribe.

With his students and colleagues, Dr. Peterson has published more than a hundred scientific papers, transforming the modern understanding of personality, and revolutionized the psychology of religion with his now-classic book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief. As a Harvard professor, he was nominated for the prestigious Levinson Teaching Prize, and is regarded by his current University of Toronto students as one of three truly life-changing teachers.

He’s a Quora Most Viewed Writer in Values and Principles and Parenting and Education with 125,000 Twitter followers and 35,000 Facebook likes. His YouTube channel has over 200 videos, 275,000 subscribers, and  12,000,000 views and his classroom lectures on mythology were turned into a popular 13-part TV series on TVO. Dr. Peterson’s online self-help program, the Self Authoring Suite, featured in O: The Oprah Magazine, CBC radio, and NPR’s national website, has helped over 150,000 people resolve the problems of their past and radically improve their future.

Here is a brief video (he has a series of 7 or 8 in more detail) on Post modernism and Marxism in today's society...

I'd really like to hear from you guys around the world on what you see happening in your countries.
The division here in America is probably comparable to the days of our civil war.

Studio One / Delay effect
« on: March 25, 2017, 05:43:29 PM »
Ok all you studio engineering types
Not sure how to word this but here goes...
Ever get a delay sound coming through your monitors or headphones from an instrument? While you're playing or recording but it's not actually on the recording.
I just bought a Steinberg UR 44 interface... (starting to wonder why)
Right off the bat it's more complicated than the simple MAudio I've used all these years... It's like I have to learn how to use it... No more plug it in push record and play....  :-\

Something new for a change of pace... because I'm bored with the same 3 chords I thought I'd mess around with some simple jazz progression for chits and giggles...
Needs some show shining clean up but I'm still working my way through it.
For now I'm calling it "Duets" do it No vocals or lyrics thus far just some thoughts... on melody.

General Discussion / What's your problem
« on: December 06, 2016, 12:30:09 AM »
Did I get your attention...   (!:)

Who doesn't want to create something really good... something better than you have done before? It's what most musicians strive for... We were given some talent and an even bigger ego to believe we can reach people through music.
So...
Do you question why so few (outside of your immediate circle) listen to your music?
Do you want to know...
Are you looking for some success/sales/progress in your music? not just a few meager bones...
Have you evaluated your strengths and weaknesses?
Do you work on your weakness or look for others to fill the gaps for you?
Do you take songwriting/performance/ production serious?
Do you care...

I'm a participant in some other musician sites and I find that most don't recognize their own deficiencies... Maybe they don't really care or want to take it too serious... I get it.
And Hey... it's not easy to look in the mirror and accept our shortcomings or hear them from someone else, but if we do and accept them we have a greater chance to grow.
I know egos and alphas are issues working with online collaborations is not an easy way... but for some, finding a partner who can do what you can't and visa-versa may be all you need.
Not as easy as it sounds different tastes ideas levels of talent... etc...
It all becomes too much of a mountain and it's always easier to just fall back into what you already do. But the results will most likely be the same.

Just thought I'd try this out here to see if brings any interest to the regulars...
Evaluate yourself, strengths and weakness and allow others to give input with an open mind... ooooh scary!  :o
TIA

Challenges / August 2016 ODC results....
« on: September 01, 2016, 09:55:34 PM »
Well that was fun... hope you guys enjoyed it as well. If you don't want to read my babblings scroll on down the page....  ::->

Just a few thoughts before I give you the results... I entered the July challenge in part because I've been a slacker for quite a while here and thought I'd force myself to get more involved. The challenges are one of the things that make TTM so cool. So I did...
Didn't expect to win it but I was feeling a little down on the place and it got me involved. Seems everyone drifts away from here whether it's just life in general, moving, new jobs, divorce, health issues...  maybe writers block.  ::)
Still don't like when things dry up around here so I asked myself... "self what are you doing besides sitting on your duff" "if you don't like how things are going what are you doing about it"... Not saying I made it better but that was all it took at least for me.
For what that's worth...
I know it gets said from time to time here but from me to you guys especially you Joom thanks for making this a cool place to participate...  8)

And now without any further nonsensical crap from me (because I hold the mic)...  :P :P your results....

Your Challenge was as follows:

If you could go back to any of the past ODC's... maybe there's a song you started but never finished so you didn't enter or you weren't even a member here but you found something interesting from the back-pages...

That 's your challenge... meet the criteria of an old challenge and create a new song based on the rules of that particular challenge.
Even if you won a challenge and have a new idea for the same month just follow the requirements for it...

When you post your song include the Month and Year you are going back to...
to enter you have to meet the ODC requirements from the challenge you pick and then voting is based purely on likes...

Rest of the typical rules should apply...

Good Gawd what a nice collection of songs you should all feel good about what you made... I really did enjoy them all.
But this isn't about my opinion we had a total of 7 entries

No Secrets - Schprocket
No Hero - DJKTRox (Reggae)
Do It Right- Onetrack
Riding On Handle Bars -Jahva
Back Home - Dino
Empty Churches - Gazebo
Ghost Runner - RedJoker

And 9 participants sent me their votes....
The top two were so close it went back and forth as the votes came in...
the final averages for the top two were 2.33 and 2.44  :o :o
Yeah... that close!

Dino you should be proud of your song... everyone seem to love it... I know I would. Top shelf as usual!  8)
A score of 2.44 would probably give you the gold in most challenges but not this time brother...

Just getting past you in a photo finish is:

Your Winner GAZEBO with Empty Churches

Congrats Gazebo glad to see you're back in the saddle and now I pass the torch to you!
Your turn.

Thanks to all who got involved... Tres cool 8)
