I've had a nasty cold that made me hoarse but today I felt much better and was able to sing!  Not well but I really enjoyed being able to practice at lunch. :)

I suggested to Matthias that he finally close the Kristal forum as it is still a haven for spam that I have to clean up each day. It looks lilke he did it...

Why thanks you Mr. Neil, there are a lot of us around here!  :P

I feel that EVERY person on this forum is a pro at something, and when the advice is shared we ALL profit from it....unlike some places where they will do it FOR you instead of telling you HOW to do it....does that make sense?

Anywho, I have wanted to try me hand at a video, but it never gets past the set up / record / playback / oh look at all the cool effects I can use on the clip!  :P  8)

A quick search brought up a ton of stuff, but these look the most promising...

https://diymusician.cdbaby.com/music-promotion/6-tips-to-making-a-no-budget-music-video/

The 2nd one from DIY Musician includes some behind the scenes videos to show how they did it. Tho I am in the "want to make one, but have not got around to it" club I see a lot of info, both good & bad out there. The folks here have gave you some solid advice so far, and I would like to add something I have found in my amateur photography & green screen playing around...

We are working I 2 dimensions. When lighting a scene you MUST make sure to do some kind of back lighting on you / the subject to separate them out from the background. Something as simple as a 60-100watt clip on lamp shining on the hair or shoulder from above & the rear will help pop the subject away from the background.

As for camera / camcorder / cell phone, I am a believer in use what ya have NOW to get started, and then as you get deeper into it you will discover what you really need for YOU, not what someone else says you need.

Good Luck with it, you are a braver soul than I am!  :P  8)

Thanks guys, and good catch agr.....that was the wrong track, the correct one is up now! And yes, the tuning was C# which put it in F# when I tracked. It did feel comfortable to "sing" in that key for sure.

Ya know, ya get bored and try to spice practice up, so I have been going thru a LOT of tunings. I have a little book that is fun to run thru that has a ton of various tunings..... ;D

I'll attach it to this post for ya..... ;)

Thanks again folks!  8)

OK, Another long time no post....err...post.... ::)

I have been thru a lot of equipment since the last post, the main one trading my GNX4 for a TC Electronics G-Major and swapping a fella thru Craigslist my B52 At-100 for his B52 LS-100....he wanted tubes & I wanted solid state....I am happy with all my pre's tones & just need the power section to drive the ISO cab. Don't get me wrong, the AT-100 is a MONSTER of an amp, and I would buy it again in a min if I was playing out, but sitting here with 1/2 it's power tubes out just seemed to be a waste some how, and this guy rocks out a lot, so.....

I have the full collection of the Joyo "Amp" pedals now that everyone was raving about a few years back,  the AC Tone, American Sound, California Sound, British Sound,  and the Extreme Metal pedal...$100 for all in VERY nice condition. Tho I don't think that they are close to the amps like folks say, the tones ARE useable. You can check what they are modeled after on THIS PAGE

These in combo with the G-Major & Cab Sim box give me a decent DI guitar amp now that has a better feel than straight into the box.......

OK, on to some sound samples. A warning first....

THIS SONG HAS AN R-RATED THEME, YOU MUST BE 18 OR OLDER TO LISTEN TO IT!  )(?

I am NOT joking, a little back story is in order......the guy I swapped B52's with is in to porn....heavy....as in posters of his favorite stars, etc, all over the music room (made me a little scared to touch anything but I digress... :o )

After I got home a cleaned everything REAL well I started jamming, and this song is what came from those jams. The Main Rhythm guitars are the B52 LS-100 DI out from it's speaker comp jack to the G-Major and straight into Reaper. The Bass & Leads are thru the Joyo's into the Power section of the B52, into the ISO box mic'd with a couple new mics (E609 & Gear1 Kick Drum Mic) which went thru the 1820, back out to the G-Major, and then into Reaper. My "newest" alt tuning is Drop C# which I am really liking for the outstanding full sound open chords have, even capoed. Guitars were the SG down tuned,  the Peavey Raptor in Open G for the little slide parts, Jag for the bass & Dobro was BiaB.

I did some....eh...research into Mandy Flores....NO REALLY!  :P  Anyhoo, she is a smart cookie with some contradictions tossed in, and I wanted the song to reflect that.

And once more.....

THIS SONG HAS AN R-RATED THEME, YOU MUST BE 18 OR OLDER TO LISTEN TO IT! BY CLICKING THE PLAYER BELOW YOU AGREE TO THIS AND HOLD NO ONE HERE, INCLUDING THE OWNERS, RESPONSIBLE FOR A BRUSED PSYCHE!

Lyrics attached.

Enjoy!  8)

I know what ya mean! My other choice was an old tune called Get Along Home, Cindy, which fits
this progression.....

I wish I were an apple
A-hanging on the tree
And every time that Cindy passed
She'd take a bite o' me

Chorus:
Get along home, Cindy Cindy
Get along home, Cindy Cindy
Get along home, Cindy Cindy
I'll marry you some day.

You ought to see my Cindy
She lives away down south
She's so sweet the honeybees
Swarm around her mouth.
   :o  :P
(Chorus)

She told me that she loved me
She called me Sugarplum
She drew her arms around me
I thought my time had come
(Chorus)

She loves me in the summertime
She loves me in the fall
If she don't love me all the time
I want no love at all.
(Chorus)

The first time that I saw her
She was standin' in the door,
Her shoes and stockings in her hand,
Her feet all over the floor.
  ???
(Chorus)

My Cindy is a pretty girl
My Cindy is a peach;
She throws her arms around my neck
And hangs on like a leech.
  :P
(Chorus)

 :P
