Hey Dave Good to see about the place... I gave a listen and would suggest Dino or Ags... they're probably 2 of the best finger pickers here.

Lyrics / Re: Bungi Benediction

Bab's & Dave, I am glad that you folks like the track! Bab's, I pray that you will recorded yourself delivering that Benediction for us to enjoy. :)

Now, tho I would LOVE to take all the "Atta Boy's" and "Great Job!" on the track, I have to admit it is NOT me... :(...the track was created in Band In A Box.  )(?

And this shows WHY I use the program, for deadlines like this it is a fantastic tool!

In BiaB there is a program called Audio Chord Wizard. What you do is feed it a track, which can be a Full Song or just a Solo Piano or Flute, etc, and it will analyze it & extract the Chord Sequence for you. It is NOT 100% correct 50-60% of the time, but is always close enough to get you in the ball park to figure out the rest.  ;D I ran the track thru it, then cut it down to 8 bars of Verse and 8 bars of Chorus. I then pulled a few chords out and added 2 in the chorus. I then set it up to repeat everything x2 and end, which came out to 2:45.

I then ran thru all the BiaB styles that had Fingerstyle playing until I found one I liked, and that I thought was close to the Original track. Then all I did was Generate it a few times until I liked what I heard, Rendered it out, converted it to MP3 and posted it. The only post processing I did was some LP from around 120Hz down.

Total time around 1 1/2 hours.  (-!)

I have used BiaB like this many times for clients. They send me an idea for a song, usually just vocals & a track they want it to sound like. I then extract the chords & get to work. when I finish in BiaB I then subtract & add what I feel it needs, guitar, bass, drums, etc. Then mix and send it along. 9 times out of 10 they are happy first time around, and it took me less than a quarter of the time to do it compared to laying all the tracks myself ;D. I will still do that if they want, but it is more expensive of course.  ;)

Anyhoo, I am happy that the track will work for you Bab's, and Thanks folks for giving it a listen to! 8)

Wait, what are we debating again?  :D

How about... Are you in favor of the unabridged version or the PG version of Anne Franks Diary?
 :o
there were some deleted passages because of the sexual content... sort of.
Wait this doesn't belong in Humor either....

I still don't see how you reached your conclusions and you never pointed out specifics from the memo...
I understand "not reaching the same conclusion"... just asked you to be specific and you said we're splitting hairs. Seems the hair splitting is the meat of the debate.
But ok...
You're right this is the "In Search of Humor" category... maybe someone got a laugh out of our back and forth.

Cheers!

Actually, I think you have a great point here.  My conclusion is:  I don't have a conclusion.

He claims that his dissenting view is being repressed.  As I said before, I don't work for Google or know this guy so maybe he's right, maybe not.  I simply don't know and don't think we have enough information.  Having said that, the instance I pointed out of classifying a group of people as "neurotic" and sharing it with the whole company MAY violate their code of conduct.  Maybe it doesn't, I don't know.  I don't think it's so cut and dry.  Google admitted that some of his points are worthy of discussion.  That's not repression of dissenting ideas.  Maybe everything he said about their diversity practices is exactly right, but maybe it isn't.  Maybe it was his method that got him fired and not the content, I don't know.  So my point is, I don't think I have enough information to come to the same conclusion as you. Maybe I'll change my mind down the road, maybe I won't.

The nice thing is that we don't have to come to a conclusion about everything we see in the news.  It's all just information that we absorb and shade by our own preferences and experiences.  That mush of data then guides how we live and vote in the world.

Wait, what are we debating again?  :D

Hi Smurf,
Thank you so much for this version of the Bungi Benediction.  It is superb.  I wish I had a talent like that.  I will need to practice saying the lyrics to fit in with the rhythm.  It'll be something a little different from the usual Benediction.  I will let you know how it is received by the congregation.
Many blessings

I agree that it's up to the individual on how they act.  I agree that being aware of opinions in the world is valuable.  And I agree that discussing what we all believe and how we come to those conclusions has value.  Just don't confuse someone not coming to the same conclusion as you as not "seeing what they don't have any interest in seeing."

Plus, we all place different values of importance on the things we see in the world.  I have to remind myself often that things that are very important to me may have a much lower level of importance to someone else.  There are things in this world that make my blood boil that someone else may simply shrug off as insignificant because they're concerned with something else.  As my wife always says, "you can't be passionate about everything."

I still don't see how you reached your conclusions and you never pointed out specifics from the memo...

I fear we've drifted from the "In Search of Humor" intent of this subforum so here's a computer joke (since we're discussing Google):

There are 10 type of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't.   ;D

I guess it starts with just being aware of these things... where it goes from there is up to the individual.
If it doesn't concern you or any of the other things going on in the world... (life's good) there's nothing for you to do. I'm not going to make you see what you don't have any interest in seeing.
But I have no issue with discussing what I believe or how I arrive at my conclusions.
