I had my first gig last night! Instead of collecting tips for me, I decided to make it a fundraiser.  We collected $383.25 for the local food bank!   :D

I found changing the velocity in Reason a little fiddly for my taste....but the overall SOUND of the instruments was outstanding!

Hey agr, I tried out the full version of Reason last year, but I like more control over the patterns. For my workflow I like Groove Monkee & Odd Grooves to lay down a root feel, then I go back in 90% of the time & tweak....add a ghost snare hit here, a cymbal there, etc. I found changing the velocit

Album....
« on: February 07, 2018, 04:16:19 PM »
Thought I'd share a little of what I've been working on for the last 2 weeks. The song choices are the client's and I had to learn the songs (all but one) and attempt to interpret them to fit his style. My lead vocal will be replaced with his. So far he's happy in spite of some of the less than perfect bits.
This compilation is a bit of an exercise to see how my mixes/recordings compare from one tune to the next, and song placement on the album. Three more songs will be added yet.

Have yourself a listen, comment if you like.

The King of Saskatchewan Country strikes again!

Sounds great!
The mixes are great, and the whole thing is pretty balanced too from what I can tell.....

Track placement is pretty good, although I’m not sure that any different order would make the slightest difference since most  of  the songs are all fairly similar in style and content.....
But  the “Ghetto” song and “16th Street” really stick out as not belonging to the whole.... they’re just slightly different to the rest....might be better to split them up and find a good spot to drop them in elsewhere....
If this was vinyl or tape I’d say put them at the ends of the sides  :P

That’s not to say they’re not phenomenal songs....just that they don’t gel with the “Trad” vibe from the rest.....UNLESS the other three songs to be added are more like them, then you’d have a really interesting album as a whole.....

But hey, the customer is ALWAYS right...even when they’re wrong  :P

All in all it sounds great!
You should be proud of it....
