It's a rainy day today in East Texas. Nice day to just relax and read a book. I took some time to build a small recording accessory, but mostly just chilling. Might take the wife out to dinner in a bit. If I play my cards right... ;D

I've said for years that it's too bad we're all so far away.  I have made such good friends here over the years, and will never get to even shake their hands...  :(

Coffee would be great, Ag.  Too bad we're so far away.  Weather is suddenly getting lots better here, snow and ice and those 3ft banks should be melting down soon...

Still shoveling, Ag.  These last 3 weeks have been the worst of the winter, with a dozen other problems tossed in.  I could whine about it for hours...  :P

General Recording Dicussions / Re: How do you record drums?
« on: April 20, 2018, 06:41:35 PM »
As said above, EZ Drummer and the others mentioned are good systems.  I've also used and like PC Drummer Pro for a lot of years.

But it's also really fun using drum units on the midi keyboard, especially if you have good kits...

It stands for Out Of Comfort Zone.

It was, W, but it was still fun.

Like I always say, even a bad day on the golf course is still a fun day...  ;D

I’ve finally thought of a song I’d like to cover. Now to get round to recording vocals  ???

Can't wait to hear it, One...  :)

...and sorrry Joom I remember I had the same problem before and you told me to change the bit rate, which I completely forgot.  Doh....  :P

 :P :P :P

I was posting while you were posting, apparently, Buster.  But yeah, probably a quality (bit rate) thing...

Thanks Joom, weird about the file size, when I mixed it down,  the MP3 is 2.7mg, the ogg is 9.5?

If you rendered both versions, it might have just been a quality difference.  I usually just render to MP3 (or WAV in some cases, but mostly MP3), and then convert it to OGG using a format converter...

Very cool, Buster.  Used to like that song, but had forgotten about it.  Good to hear it again, especially your version.

Shouldn't have been too big for the upload player........hmmm......

Glad to see you joining in on the Cheater fun...  :D

Open DAW Challenge (the ODC) / Re: April '18 ODC - SPRING BREAK!!!!

Nice one, BD.  Had to listen more than once.  Good story, too...  :)

We’re not on this planet for long. Keep the positive vibes and roll with the bad times.

Absolutely.  There are lots of bad things on this planet, but there are also a lot of good things.  The key is to recognize the good things, and make the most of them while you're here.  And always make sure the pets and the people you care about know how much you care for them before you leave...

Sorry for your loss, One.  I've never really been a cat person, but I've always said that I like my dogs better most people.  A good pet is the best, whatever it is.

Over the years, every time I've lost one I've always said I'll never do it again, but I always do.  The wife has been gone a week now taking care of her folks, and our little one has been laying on my lap in the evening and actually crying, she must think the wife isn't coming home.  Makes me sad.

But as you said, she had a good life, and a good family.  She couldn't have asked for more.  And she's with her pet family now.

I always feel bad when I hear about someone losing a pet, because I know what it's like when it happens here.  Just know that you took great care of her, and treated her like family (which she was)...

The plan is for a late October release. Kinda weird doing Christmas stuff in April ::) ;D

Start now and it's still at least a song a month, should work out...  (-!)

Very nice, G.  As already said - great music, cool artwork, nice side-notes, and all in all should be a great success.

Historically, this means another album release by September, you know.  That used to be the path to fame and fortune.  ;)

Seriously, good luck with it mate...  :)
