Okay, I've replaced both tie rod ends and realigned one car (and cleaned brake pads and caliper).  Replaced the power steering line in another.  And fixed the radio (for the wife) in another.  Cold, wet, sore, and tired.

So, since I couldn't work, I came in and spent an hour warming up.  And then decided I wanted to hear the new speakers.  Have to say, I'm very pleased with them.  Way more volume than I need, and the sound is great.  I'll be ordering another pair...

But, after spending a while getting all dressed up, and tools and jacks together, I got started on the vehicles.  But, at +4 and wind at 40mph gusting to 50, it didn't take long crawling around on the snowy/icy driveway to just give it up.  Maybe tomorrow...

Tom Petty - In memorium
« on: October 04, 2017, 07:25:51 PM »
So, after hearing the sad news of Tom's passing, I decided to learn and play one of his tunes at the jam session I attend in Cambridge most Tuesdays.
I chose 'Breakdown', which I first heard from a cover by Grace Jones. I liked it then and I like it now.....

Unfortunately, since so many guitarists turned up on Tuesday, I didn't get time to play it. Maybe on Thursday, at the Newmarket jam session.

So, this afternoon, I decided to have a shot at recording said toon. Here is the result (a 'puter crash made re-recording gits a necessity  >:( )
I'm quite pleased with it, even though the lead guitar tone is a little dark.

Guitars are through my Hughes and Kettner Tour Reverb, lead is through the crunch channel.
Vox are recorded using my new Rode condenser mic, double tracked.

Well, if that's the best you can do.......  :-*

But seriously, excellent stuff, White.  Tom would be proud - and probably want you as the new main Heartbreaker.  Really nice work, mate...  ;)
