Okay, I've replaced both tie rod ends and realigned one car (and cleaned brake pads and caliper).  Replaced the power steering line in another.  And fixed the radio (for the wife) in another.  Cold, wet, sore, and tired.

So, since I couldn't work, I came in and spent an hour warming up.  And then decided I wanted to hear the new speakers.  Have to say, I'm very pleased with them.  Way more volume than I need, and the sound is great.  I'll be ordering another pair...

But, after spending a while getting all dressed up, and tools and jacks together, I got started on the vehicles.  But, at +4 and wind at 40mph gusting to 50, it didn't take long crawling around on the snowy/icy driveway to just give it up.  Maybe tomorrow...

Interesting thing about a song I'm working on...
« on: August 23, 2017, 01:28:12 PM »
I'm in the midst of finalizing a song that I call "Mile markers" but I'm experiencing an interesting phenomenon.  The idea came from driving from Joplin, Missouri to Springfield, Missouri in a rental car.  Each verse describes a small part of the country side at each mile marker and the chorus asks the question of what are we missing as the mile markers pass us by.

What I find so interesting is not the verses that are in the songs but the millions of verses that aren't in the song.  I find that as I sing the song or am just driving, I'm thinking more about the stories that go with what I see around me.

Anyway, I know we all frame songs in our own experiences but this is the first time I've written a song that makes ME think of other things.  pretty weird...

That should mean it's a hit....  ~:)
Making that connection is what it's all about :)

Maybe you can somehow incorporate that connection towards other things in your song? :D
