I can relate, Smurf.  Yesterday I made it 10-12 miles at 20mph before I turned around and came back.  Icy ruts pulling the car all over, and twice pulled me onto the center line with semi's coming the other way.  Scary...

Just had to turn around & come home from my sleep study tonight....super bad roads + ice + nothing but hills, valleys and drop-offs for 18 miles of the trip....no thanks! :P

Sampson monitors are supposed to be here UPS tomorrow sometime.  I have to go do a network job at a school, so I won't get to try them out till Wednesday.  But I have some mixing to do, so I'll let y'all know how they work...

Crazy snow storm today.  Going to have to plow, shovel, and scoop.  And probably again tomorrow...  >:(

I know, right?  I used to climb right in there.  Not anymore.

Two years ago I had to pull the exhaust manifold and some other things just to get to the back 3 plugs on one of the cars just to do a tuneup.

I hear ya Joom...our old 1/2 tons you could climb in beside the engine and almost close the hood,,, now you have to almost remove the motor to change a fan belt lol

I've got a pile of tools and testers that weren't even thought of 50 years ago.  Aside from basic drive train axle stuff, you have to start with an OBD tester just to know what might be going on.

I've always said I'd love to have a 1965 'anything' in good shape to fix up and drive...

Things have definitely changed a lot from back in the day of simple carburetors and distributors with points, Buster.  I could fix most things on the road with a few tools.  Not any more...

You guys are doing well. The 1st car I owned I took out the engine and gearbox, removed all the parts, had the engine o'hauled, put it all back in, re-timed it and drove it away. The new truck, I can't name a single thing under the hood.

And yeah, garage and pole barn, both full of motorcycles and dirt bikes, mowers, and a ton of other crap.  Been promising myself to clean them out for a long time and give myself a work area...

Same here, Red.  Back in the 70's before I got into computers I was a licensed mechanic, and I still refuse to pay somebody else to do what I can do.  Most of the time...

I'm with you Joom. I do all our car maintenance, have a 3 car garage and can't park a single car in it.  :/

Only -2 here today, not too cold.  But just finished 3 hours laying on ice doing a front end alignment on one of the cars.  That got cold.  Really need to clean out the garage...

Well I thought I was done with instruments and gear and all this crap , and the lie detector test says ......  That is a lie !

Got some stuff to sell nothing ever goes in order at least with me sooooooo

I have a bug hehe , I was thinking that I could upgrade the pickups in my Ibenaz but good pickups ain't cheap and I ended up being complacent.

Then I thought you know what there's one guitar I really liked and would like to have back and that is the 1978 Gibson The Paul . Solid Walnut body Ebony fret board Natural finish no bling . That thing played like butter .

Prices are around 1,000 now . So I'm not that hyped lol but then I started to think what I liked and did not like about it and it was a simple answer lol

I liked the balance , playability and it's look , as sound goes it sounded good to me but your talking 1978 I did not know anything about tone then lol anyway looking into it recently the pickups are discribed as muddy sounding so I don't want to invest , again !

What a I did not like was only one thing the location of the toggle switch . That's it .

So I been reading up on the Epi's again and they get some really good reviews. I been hot and heavy at the AAA ProTop les Paul and the different colors .
So while on Sweetwaters site and cruzing through the pics I one I'm not sure I've seen before well yup there it is and I like it .

So I'm gunna get it it's just going take a few weeks lol
No prob no rush as gives time to post some gear to sell off .

This might have posted here before there's an itch in my head about but I don't know .

Anyway seem the Epi has the right look of my 1978 gib natural color plus modern goodies and no upgrades needed .

So in about a month I may have a new guitar lol

Love my Epi's.......all three of them......
Just because they're cheaper certainly doesn't make them cheap if you know what I mean  ;D

Yeah I know but compared to Gibson there's quality differences .
Besides higher grade wood , the tops be it maple or other is thicker epi uses thinner ones that plays the hand of tonal differences .

Epi's so the reviews say is getting closer to Gibson sound then ever before.  I hope the one I get is a jewel not a log with strings lmao .

I do wish it had a ebony fret board but only model comes with it that I've seen , bummer that would have been a nice look . :)

Well no amount of high end tonewood will make me play any better so I'll save my money for now lol

You on the other hand would still sound like a million dollars playing a log with strings  :P :P

K Yup here's my New baby

Guild F47KC GSR

GSR stands for Guild special run

She sports a cutaway ,Ebony fretboard and Bridge , Bear Claw AAA+++ Sitka Top , Premium Koa back and sides , Mother of pearl fret board inlays , Koa head stock cap , Gold Guild open back tuners with Guild logo button tuner heads, Three piece Neck consisting of Mahogany outer strips with a Walnut center strip. The Rosetta I'm not sure on abalone or mother of pearl.

She also sports the Guild multi source pickup system which combines an under saddle transducer and internal mic

Awesome gator skin pattern TKL ( I think )  Case plus other goodies

buying a guitar without knowing what she sounds like is risky but I lucked out with her she sound beautiful !

the Guild balance of tone shines through but her special woods up the game for sure .

here she is :)
