I can relate, Smurf.  Yesterday I made it 10-12 miles at 20mph before I turned around and came back.  Icy ruts pulling the car all over, and twice pulled me onto the center line with semi's coming the other way.  Scary...

Sampson monitors are supposed to be here UPS tomorrow sometime.  I have to go do a network job at a school, so I won't get to try them out till Wednesday.  But I have some mixing to do, so I'll let y'all know how they work...

I know, right?  I used to climb right in there.  Not anymore.

Two years ago I had to pull the exhaust manifold and some other things just to get to the back 3 plugs on one of the cars just to do a tuneup.

I've got a pile of tools and testers that weren't even thought of 50 years ago.  Aside from basic drive train axle stuff, you have to start with an OBD tester just to know what might be going on.

I've always said I'd love to have a 1965 'anything' in good shape to fix up and drive...

Things have definitely changed a lot from back in the day of simple carburetors and distributors with points, Buster.  I could fix most things on the road with a few tools.  Not any more...

You guys are doing well. The 1st car I owned I took out the engine and gearbox, removed all the parts, had the engine o'hauled, put it all back in, re-timed it and drove it away. The new truck, I can't name a single thing under the hood.

And yeah, garage and pole barn, both full of motorcycles and dirt bikes, mowers, and a ton of other crap.  Been promising myself to clean them out for a long time and give myself a work area...

Same here, Red.  Back in the 70's before I got into computers I was a licensed mechanic, and I still refuse to pay somebody else to do what I can do.  Most of the time...

Only -2 here today, not too cold.  But just finished 3 hours laying on ice doing a front end alignment on one of the cars.  That got cold.  Really need to clean out the garage...

I spent a night last month looking around for a reasonable music page script I could put here, but haven't found anything yet.

I did see that when we got hacked a month or two ago the ODC archives got wiped out.  Songs, code/script, everything.

I still think I might figure something out for some kind of usable band room type page, but I did also think about the possibility that if something happens to me in the near future that could disappear also.  But I'll keep looking anyway.  Just have to find something that doesn't cost a fortune and would work for the purpose...
A computer once beat me at chess, but as it turns out it was no match for me at kickboxing...

Hi Joom

I didn’t realise the reason there was no longer a song archive was the site got hacked.

That’s awful. A real kick in the teeth for you and al your hard endeavours.

I loved th fact I could look up any given artist on the fly and hear some stuff.

Soundclick is a good site (I think). We used it in the old Kristal days and my old
Songs are still there.

Good work, setting up the Ags challenge page, Neil!  ~:)

I removed the Ags challenge entry because I honestly thought a page had been set up for it, as I think, was discussed. I also felt that, being for the monthly ODC, less confusion would ensue if that is all that it is used for......

SC pages are free! I see no reason not to use them to the full.
There is no reason SoundClick pages, or any others for that matter, can't also be used. If they are used and members feel more comfortable with them, then it's all good!  ;)
I use SoundCloud because that's what I have always used, not because they are better. I'm sure that's the case for many of us. I have no issues with their useability, but then, I tend not to visit many other SC pages, other than those linked to from here....

If you set up group SC (or any other) pages, it might be a good idea to post the login details here..... http://www.twotrackmusic.com/ttmforums/index.php?board=79.0
It is a central place for login info, for members only.....  ;)

Hackers are the bane of any webmaster's life. You do a very fine job, Boss!  ~:)

I think we have to remember that all TTM members have their own lives to lead, apart from TTM (might not seem like it, sometimes, LOL). Life sometimes rears it's head, ugly or otherwise, and gets in the way. So, my thanks go to those of you who step up to the plate and give a helping hand (you know who you are).
Is this a good time to mention the looming need for a tally slave person...?  ;D

There are 2 Days left, to get your entries into this months challenge!

Start a simple new thread mp3 link only .

Put your collab song on your Sc page for Pete’s sake it’s your song or partly .

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! .

My sound cloud page does not delete nor stop uploads it does have a limit of playable songs any new uploads just bump the lowest viewed tunes or is oldest ? Anyway just bumps out of the play list but their still there .

Ags, Neil has set up a special page for your challenge (called: Ags Challenge). This has no link to your personal page.
Here it is..... https://soundcloud.com/ags-challenge

You just need the login details from Neil, which I'm sure he will have sent you......

Wow, that turned out great!  I doff my cap in your general direction!   :D

For those in the peanut gallery, this is 99% papaG's work.  I only added a few words but he did EVERYTHING else.
