That's what I thought, Neil.  All about presentation.  ;)

I do wish they had some kind of protective screen or mesh over the speakers.  Can't wait to see how they sound...

.......as long as they look good  :P

Home again.  Didn't get the network/wi-fi finished at the school, have to go back again Thursday.

Sampson monitors are here, hopefully I can get them set up tomorrow and test them out on a mix I need to do.  They look good...

I can relate, Smurf.  Yesterday I made it 10-12 miles at 20mph before I turned around and came back.  Icy ruts pulling the car all over, and twice pulled me onto the center line with semi's coming the other way.  Scary...

Just had to turn around & come home from my sleep study tonight....super bad roads + ice + nothing but hills, valleys and drop-offs for 18 miles of the trip....no thanks! :P

January 15, 2018, 07:38:17 PM
Sampson monitors are supposed to be here UPS tomorrow sometime.  I have to go do a network job at a school, so I won't get to try them out till Wednesday.  But I have some mixing to do, so I'll let y'all know how they work...

Crazy snow storm today.  Going to have to plow, shovel, and scoop.  And probably again tomorrow...  >:(

January 13, 2018, 10:07:33 PM
I know, right?  I used to climb right in there.  Not anymore.

Two years ago I had to pull the exhaust manifold and some other things just to get to the back 3 plugs on one of the cars just to do a tuneup.

January 13, 2018, 10:04:41 PM
I hear ya Joom...our old 1/2 tons you could climb in beside the engine and almost close the hood,,, now you have to almost remove the motor to change a fan belt lol

January 13, 2018, 09:15:48 PM
I've got a pile of tools and testers that weren't even thought of 50 years ago.  Aside from basic drive train axle stuff, you have to start with an OBD tester just to know what might be going on.

I've always said I'd love to have a 1965 'anything' in good shape to fix up and drive...

January 13, 2018, 09:11:19 PM
Things have definitely changed a lot from back in the day of simple carburetors and distributors with points, Buster.  I could fix most things on the road with a few tools.  Not any more...

January 13, 2018, 08:16:27 PM
You guys are doing well. The 1st car I owned I took out the engine and gearbox, removed all the parts, had the engine o'hauled, put it all back in, re-timed it and drove it away. The new truck, I can't name a single thing under the hood.

January 13, 2018, 05:12:12 PM
And yeah, garage and pole barn, both full of motorcycles and dirt bikes, mowers, and a ton of other crap.  Been promising myself to clean them out for a long time and give myself a work area...

January 13, 2018, 05:10:25 PM
Same here, Red.  Back in the 70's before I got into computers I was a licensed mechanic, and I still refuse to pay somebody else to do what I can do.  Most of the time...

January 13, 2018, 04:36:32 PM
I'm with you Joom. I do all our car maintenance, have a 3 car garage and can't park a single car in it.  :/

I had to do some binding repair on the fret board as it came lose  >:( LOL  I'm doing a new saddle today or tomorrow depending on when my parts come . Frets have the usual wear in the 1-5th fret area as a result I might have do a fret level to her we'll see after the new saddle arrives.

Though shes a pretty guitar I have no need another dread and she will be listed for sale along with the Guild F47 GSR
after winter settles down.  I don't like shipping guitars in the winter LOL

Thinking of you Gc while I work on my projects :)

Well , yeah , gone did it again needs a little TLC . If she does not bond up for sale she’ll go .
Anyway she’s a Guild D55 2003 7th to last out the factory before closing .

The Guild D55 is the company’s flagship dread solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides . Solid AAA Sitka top , three Piece neck Mahogany with a walnut center strip . Finger board and bridge are Ebony with abalone and mother of pearl inlays and abalone Rosetta .

Hey guys I know I've not been around much, just going crazy I guess LOL
anyway always like for ya to hear a new tune .

I came up with this inbetween recording takes of another tune and when I goof up and delete I get mad and go off on a doodling fest to take my mind off the tune , clear me head so to say and sometimes I get a new tune out of it .

Normal mellowness some goofs ,timing and or stiffness in playing , very delicate piece as to the noting for me and it took way more takes then I can count to have gotten a take this good LOL HULK SMASH !

I’ve probably still missed some off, although some could be duplicates as I often have a working title that bears little resemblance  to the final song title.

It works out at 10 songs a year. In other words an album per year for 9 years. I’m quite happy with that. Obviously threes a fair degree of differing quality to the songs. Some are just half finished instrumentals. Others I’ll never listen ever again. Id say 25 efforts are half decent.

Wow Al ! You can never say again that you have no time to write a new song ! Lol

I have way more then twenty but they hide it on a back page you still share it it’s just listed in your cover page to the public .

Start a simple new thread mp3 link only .

Put your collab song on your Sc page for Pete’s sake it’s your song or partly .

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! .

My sound cloud page does not delete nor stop uploads it does have a limit of playable songs any new uploads just bump the lowest viewed tunes or is oldest ? Anyway just bumps out of the play list but their still there .
