Noticed that a few days ago, G.  Been a while since we've seen him.  Hope to see him jump in here...

The 99 cent one on a laptop, Neil.  Good for when you're on the trail and think of something...

March 22, 2018, 04:45:12 PM
Which DAW do you have in it is what I want to know..... :P

March 22, 2018, 04:28:40 PM
You get older and all that dust and weather just isn't as much fun on the trails anymore.  And I like not having to haul anything around.  Being licensed, we can just drive to wherever we want to trail ride - and go.

Once the new starter gets here, anyway...  :P

March 22, 2018, 04:23:08 PM
Ah.  Yeah, I know a few people with the Polaris Ranger, nice units.  Reason I really like the Tracker is fully enclosed, heat in the winter, AC in the summer, lots of room for stuff, and it's licensed so drive it anywhere anytime.

March 22, 2018, 02:35:04 PM
Oops, sorry, I meant Polaris Ranger. I did have a Ford Ranger years ago though. Clutch went out and I traded it for a new 2003Tundra. It's still my daily driver with 340,000 miles on it.

March 22, 2018, 02:17:02 PM
I'm sure there is, G, just give it some thought...  ;)

March 22, 2018, 07:09:31 AM
First time, though, that I've been called a pe pole...
Guess there's now way to blame someone else for this, huh? :-[ ;D

March 22, 2018, 04:02:36 AM
I have a Ranger too, BD, but the clutch went out last year and I haven't fixed it yet.  Too many other things.  It is a good little work truck.  The F150 plow truck I got last fall is a good one too.  But the Tracker is a perfect trail buggy...

March 22, 2018, 03:54:04 AM
Ah, I see. I have a Ranger I use on my property for work and hunting.

An off-road vehicle for old pepole

And that too...  :P

We have dirt bikes, quads, 3 wheeler, golf carts, and a Kawasaki Mule.  But the Tracker is my favorite, because I set it up like a little home away from home...

Other / Great Deal For Mixbus Users!
« on: March 23, 2018, 07:57:04 PM »
Mixbus has been sending out these "whats in the box" sales at the rate of one plugin per sale, and thne it is over. I just received an email that you can once again pick up a Free EQ and 3 $9.81 plugins, 2 compressor's and 1 de-esser.

I missed the Look Ahead Comp & De-Esser the first time around, so this was perfect timing for me! If ya use Mixbus & would like to grab some great plugins (even if they are not At Our Favorite Price Pointâ„¢) then here is the link....I hope it works...

They are out there at times, I bought mine from Reverb.com after some wheeling & dealing for $ 90 or120 shipped, I do believe....I bought & sold a few items in that 2 week span. It was a good investment me thinks!

Some folks say that the ATX-100 has a better mid & low end, but I can not comment on that. I am looking at one of the 5 watt Jet City's now. They have a "crunch / old rock" tone I like, plus you can use an EL84 or 6L6 just by changing the tube out, no Bias'ing required...I like the sound of that.

Ya know, sometimes you just can not fix stupid......even with duct tape!

Hey Agr, I have seen that video, it is a decent one.

When I first got the amp I just placed my old Alesis Nanoverb on there, but now I am experimenting with the Johnson J-Station, Genisis3, and GNX4 in the effects loop....it is great stomping on the Effects Loop and getting a whole new Pre-Amp to rock with!  :P The loop does not like my Vox SE, but with that in front & the GNX4 in the loop I am in stomp box / preamp heaven!  :o  :P  ;D

I pulled 2 tubes out of the B-52 today & removed the Power Soak....lost some of that "cream-e" power amp overdrive  :(, but gained some very cool crunch, especially with the SG.  :)

I also dropped the volume of the Jet City ISO box by about 6db (according to the DB meter on my tablet) by wrapping it in 2 layers on moving blankets & placing it up on a furniture dolly to decouple it from the floor. To plan is to get a sheet of mass loaded vinyl to wrap it in, hopefully soon. That way I can rock out late night without worrying about the neighbors.  ::->

Fun times ATM!  8)

First time I read that I could have sworn it said your amp went up to 100.....

I had read & heard that B-52 stuff was mostly junk, but I am here to tell ya that is far from the truth! I got this for one heck of a price just because the power light & reverb was out....

This thing has 100 watts of tube tone, 3 channels all voiced slightly different, 3 rectifier positions, and the best part is a patch-bay like FX section. You can plug into your pedal board or pre-amp and then plug into the FX return and it will allow you to use the Power Amp  section by itself AND use the FX Send to use the amps pre-amp section separately.

It was a fun experiment running my Digitech GNX4 into the power amp & recording it with the signal from my DAW, while I was plugged into the Amps pre-amp which was feeding my DI box....which was feeding the DAW. It also makes a great way to "re-amp" a guitar or bass track.

Overall this "junk' amp is great! In the next day or so I am going to pull 2 tubes to drop the power down to 50 or so watts so I can take the Power Soak out of the way. Then I will re-record the tracks & see how they turn out.

If either one of you folks want to jump in & help me finish this track that would be fine with me!

I have sung some different lyrics to "Hit Me With Your Best Shot"...but they are NOT PG rated by ANY stretch of the imagination!  )(?

The flashbacks I have from the bar days!  :P  8)

OK, long time no post. Knees are as good as an old farts knees can be...along with the rest of me.... ;D

Dooley Idea 1 2-28-18_3_MAIN START_5

Here is one of many tracks I have been toying with. This track uses the 2 bass-centric plugins I just posted about in the Other thread.....

I would have used our new .ogg player, but there was too much high end for the .ogg format using the convert I have ATM.  :(

OK, now The list....

Fender Strat & Epi SG guitars thru a B52 AT-100. The amp was run thru a Power Soak and then into a Jet city ISO cab with a 12" Eminence speaker. This is mic'd with a Shure SM 57 & a Behringer B1. The B1 is ran back thru a Berry MIC200 set on Warm. The 57 is ran thru the Fast Track Ultra.  :o

The bass is a new Fender Squire Jaguar with new Dunlop Bright's on it. This is ran thru a Peavey Supreme Amp in the same ISO & Mic setup as above. During "mixdown" I used the MRJC Jr & Brainworx plugins.

The drums are from Jim Dooley, who you can find on You tube. The track I used is....

You can grab his videos & create some cool tracks, but I like his feel so much I decided to start supporting him last year for $5 a month.  ;D  Doing this allows me better quality audio & a Loop package of each beat, but I mainly use his full tracks and Slice & Dice them as needed. This also helps support a fellow musician in today's world of no-pay.  ;)

This was "mixed" in Reaper 4.78 using Reapers, TDR, Pushtec, and the 2 mentioned bass plugins. This is nothing but one of many daily tracks that I just sit down & do. A ton get trashed because they suck  :P, but some get saved, like this one, for later use.

Anyhoo, I hope ya enjoy the demo of the 2 plugins for Bass Guitar!  8)

Another Low End saver, this free-b really does do what it says it will. I have been using a new bass & placed some flats on an old one, and working on dialing them in. This & the MJUC jr has really helped me do this.....

You have to join the site and once again jump thru some hoops, but once again this plugin is worth it if your dealing with bass.  ~:)

The Klanghelm stuff is very good, but at times very picky when setting it up. This free-b solves that IMHO. After a while of using this, I can say it has taken over Bass Compression duty's for me....

I am a HUGE fan of the TDR stuff, their Compressors are great, but this one is super easy to use....which means it is quick to use. Simple controls that don't get in the way when your mixing, and THAT rocks in my book.  ;D

Solid on Bass, and dy-no-mite on Vocals...plus it is At Our Favorite Price Pointâ„¢, so how can you go wrong?

A VERY nice sounding EQ here, I have been playing with it for a few hours tonight. This thing sounds super on acoustic instruments, both real and sampled, Vocals and Electric Guitar. I am not sure if I like on my Bass yet, but we will see on down the road.

You can Grab It Here

This thing is going to be priced at $139, but right now it is At Our Favorite Price Pointâ„¢ untill the 18th. You have to have an account & jump thru a few hoops, but this one is worth it IMHO.

Well, here is mine...for now....

Looks like a few folks have already jumped in....at least I did not take the car! LOL! 8)
