I never use it anymore....not for years now.....but it was my only DAW for a long long time.....and the whole reason I’m even here in the first place  ;D

June 14, 2018, 12:39:34 PM
All the KAE folks are over here now agr, but I WOULD be curious as to how many still use KAE as their DAW? I pull it out for a challenge every now and then, and still find it totally useable.... 8)

Tho I don't mention the names, I DO listen to their tracks most every week.....I have a playlist of KAE / TTM folks that I spin at LEAST once a week, even if it is only in the background.

I miss every fruitcake that has graced our ears with their heart felt music, and feel proud that so many could lay their heats bare, so to speak, for our entertainment.

Thanks for bring it up agradeleous!

Opps, that is what I meant, I guess it would be better said this way...

Root Key-up three, then the next set Root Key DOWN set of three, or does the 2nd set have to start where the first set ended?

Example Key of A, then to C. Next, Key of A DOWN 3 to Gb

- - - Key Of A - - -

Or do we have to go linear in one direction

Key Of A - - - - - -

I hope that makes sense....

Quick Question, can the move be a semitone in BOTH directions? One up, one down?  :o  ;)  8)

"Also, your song must include two key changes. These changes must be 3 semitones each and cannot revert to the original key. Example, if the songs starts in the key of G, your next change would be Bb and then C#. Minimum limit for each key change will be 16 measures"

Finally, my kind of challenge! LOL!

Ardour / MixBus / New Mixbus Course at 1/2 price
« on: May 25, 2018, 03:46:53 PM »
Tho I have not been posting in this section (hope to change that this summer) I am still using Mixbus and investing in the Harrison plugins for it. In the mean time for all you folks that do use Mixbus here is a great course for 1/2 price....

$15 is not a At Our Favorite Price Point™ price, but it IS cheap, and this course is worth it. I learned a few tricks in it (mainly VCA's) so it is worth the $$. I am using Mixus 32c, and at this time could not be happier.

Hope This Helps! 8)

I will 2nd what Mr. Joom said, and toss in a few thoughts....

If you are sticking to a laptop format definitely get a large screen. I bought 2 Dell Inspiron1750's a few years back for $300. Intel Core2Duo 2.11Ghz, 4gb Ram (just maxed them to 8gb this year) The 17" screen is nice, and with only 4gb memory I could run most anything really using Reaper & Win7 x64. And I am talking 2 instances of the SIR convolution Reverb, 3 Kontakt 5 Instruments while recording a guitar part. It WAS a strain, but it worked.

I also have a smaller 15" screened Dell lappy that is almost impossible to work on audio with.

I also buy used / refurbished when I can, or just build them, it is pretty easy to slap one together anymore IF you have the patience. My main system is a Core2Quad running at 3Ghz, 16gb Ram, a 1gb video card and 7TB of HDD space (1TB OS & Programs, and 2 3TB Loops BU and large sound banks) I was running Win7 x64 until 2 weeks ago when I got 2 deals on some older hardware, which made be revert to **GASP** Win Vista x64! So far so good on this.....

All of this to say you can get a LOT of machine for a great price if ya go the used market way. I have had my best luck with Dell's & HP's, most others have been hit or miss for me over the years.

Remember, for us audio guys more memory is the way to go!

Other / MSpectralDelay At Our Favorite Price Point™ till 6-3-18
« on: May 21, 2018, 04:56:15 PM »
Here is a fun one to have, I am wasting WAY too much time on this months TTM ODC playing with this! If ya like delays of all types give this a go, and ya have nothing to lose at the price it is going for......

Hope This Helps!  8)

Blowing off steam is healthy IMHO....it is when a person don't allow themselves to do this that worries me.....

I hope the get together goes well for you folks!
