That's what I thought, Neil.  All about presentation.  ;)

I do wish they had some kind of protective screen or mesh over the speakers.  Can't wait to see how they sound...

.......as long as they look good  :P

Home again.  Didn't get the network/wi-fi finished at the school, have to go back again Thursday.

Sampson monitors are here, hopefully I can get them set up tomorrow and test them out on a mix I need to do.  They look good...

I can relate, Smurf.  Yesterday I made it 10-12 miles at 20mph before I turned around and came back.  Icy ruts pulling the car all over, and twice pulled me onto the center line with semi's coming the other way.  Scary...

Just had to turn around & come home from my sleep study tonight....super bad roads + ice + nothing but hills, valleys and drop-offs for 18 miles of the trip....no thanks! :P

Sampson monitors are supposed to be here UPS tomorrow sometime.  I have to go do a network job at a school, so I won't get to try them out till Wednesday.  But I have some mixing to do, so I'll let y'all know how they work...

Crazy snow storm today.  Going to have to plow, shovel, and scoop.  And probably again tomorrow...  >:(

January 13, 2018, 10:07:33 PM
I know, right?  I used to climb right in there.  Not anymore.

Two years ago I had to pull the exhaust manifold and some other things just to get to the back 3 plugs on one of the cars just to do a tuneup.

January 13, 2018, 10:04:41 PM
I hear ya Joom...our old 1/2 tons you could climb in beside the engine and almost close the hood,,, now you have to almost remove the motor to change a fan belt lol

January 13, 2018, 09:15:48 PM
I've got a pile of tools and testers that weren't even thought of 50 years ago.  Aside from basic drive train axle stuff, you have to start with an OBD tester just to know what might be going on.

I've always said I'd love to have a 1965 'anything' in good shape to fix up and drive...

January 13, 2018, 09:11:19 PM
Things have definitely changed a lot from back in the day of simple carburetors and distributors with points, Buster.  I could fix most things on the road with a few tools.  Not any more...

January 13, 2018, 08:16:27 PM
You guys are doing well. The 1st car I owned I took out the engine and gearbox, removed all the parts, had the engine o'hauled, put it all back in, re-timed it and drove it away. The new truck, I can't name a single thing under the hood.

January 13, 2018, 05:12:12 PM
And yeah, garage and pole barn, both full of motorcycles and dirt bikes, mowers, and a ton of other crap.  Been promising myself to clean them out for a long time and give myself a work area...

January 13, 2018, 05:10:25 PM
Same here, Red.  Back in the 70's before I got into computers I was a licensed mechanic, and I still refuse to pay somebody else to do what I can do.  Most of the time...

January 13, 2018, 04:36:32 PM
I'm with you Joom. I do all our car maintenance, have a 3 car garage and can't park a single car in it.  :/

Instrumentals / A moment In Time
« on: December 21, 2017, 10:05:36 PM »
Hey guys I know I've not been around much, just going crazy I guess LOL
anyway always like for ya to hear a new tune .

I came up with this inbetween recording takes of another tune and when I goof up and delete I get mad and go off on a doodling fest to take my mind off the tune , clear me head so to say and sometimes I get a new tune out of it .

Normal mellowness some goofs ,timing and or stiffness in playing , very delicate piece as to the noting for me and it took way more takes then I can count to have gotten a take this good LOL HULK SMASH !

Microphones / Get it before it’s gone !
« on: November 12, 2017, 09:15:41 PM »

Just bought my second one , cant help I’m sick and need help . It’s a great mic . A tad plosive close but awesome levels 18-24” away very impressive from my point of view . 😁

Collaborations / Here ya go :)

What I’m asking to humor me in my ponderings

Anyway here’s the deal it’s about team ups and how I think they will turn out and that’s great !

Some might be put off because there is no real challenge but if you like it to be one then the Challenge is working together lol , not that’s its a problem but it’s the music you create that intrigues me !

So you will all write  “A new tune “ TaDa ! Brilliant!!

It can be anything your little hearts desire, Poka , Squre dancing , or a song about upskirting Neil’s kilt .

Understand that the team ups I’ve picked out are not about putting the best talent together but those who I feel will make a good team in respect to each other’s musical style , hopefully you will complement each other and your song is the result we all await .

Ok your partners in crime are as follows

Team duet :)

1) Rk and Neil
2) Onetrack and Way2
3) Joom and Cotton
4) Dino and Jahva
5) PapaG and Red

Last thing on the song part , My hopes are for to take the time needed to put together a good tune and enjoy the process. ;)

Time ? How long do you have ? Good question . BOTB was three months , I don’t want anyone not to have enough time so I figure this has a nice comfort span . If you rip one out faster great if you need more time , you got it just make sure there’s progress .

Ok so there ya go once see your partner you may begin , enjoy :)

Collaborations / An idea 😁
« on: October 01, 2017, 08:03:36 PM »
Hi yup I’m thinking again and we all know what happens when that starts happing .

So this idea I’m thinking is music Tada ! And an experiment of sorts Lol

Ok ? really it’s going to be a basic no challenge per theme thing .

Before I can say more I like to get a even head count of who is interested in just writing a song .

There will be a time limit like BOTB which was what 2-3 months ? But we can discuss that once the numbers of participants are tallied .

So is anyone willing ? just know I will set the most basic of rules and you must bow and Swear fidelity to the great and all powerful cough * hack # me !  (-!)

K so let me know or we just kill this now !  ::-> lol

Challenges / September Challenge
« on: September 02, 2017, 11:47:24 PM »
for the love of or hate of :)

Ok this going to be different for all of us but in essence it's based of my photo challenge many moons ago so thing of it like that if you remember .

I will be listing 4 songs below that yes are something that I like but that's not the point !

The challenge is to give each song a hard core listen ! Hate it or not. Not your cup of tea tough ! lol it's about your openness!

Your free to to listen to the whole album , like I can stop you lol and you can use that as influence but you still to base it off the one song .

Now I completely understand that the bands do not jive with everyone that's the best part so write your new song based off your own interpretation of the selected song .

Your interpretation or perception of the song is what I'm looking for just like a photo:)

Understand ?

Now I myself would like to see everyone get into this the door is wide open as it gets , myself ,  I'd like some extreme creativity and imagination.

Now your song can be in any style you like just make it your own and bonus points if you like add a very short clip of the original song in there :)

Songs are as follows good luck !

Look for different versions if need be , lastly enjoy!!!

We'll shoot for the September 29 or more time if needed , any questions just ask .

Start now !!

Instrumentals / Meditational waters

General Discussion / Photobucket ...
« on: July 23, 2017, 08:26:13 PM »
I just received an email from Photobucket saying I'm using their site to host excessive photos to a third party site which means forums ? I had no idea that was an issue ? Excessive? Wtf does that mean for what I've posted lol so they said I'm cut off but I can use them for personal stuff other wise I have upgrade which means pay !
When will the madness stop ?

Instrumentals / Layers of the wood NGD
« on: June 01, 2017, 12:57:06 AM »
I was thinking about the woods used in building acoustics and there interactions so I happily name it Layer of the woods
this is Her first tune and I hold out the chords a bit so you can hear the sustain and tone a bit better thats the intent anyway LOL
