Tuning Down a Half step ?
« on: August 10, 2013, 10:45:42 AM »
So far I have a Dean Vendetta and a Ovation Celebrity tuned down 1/2 step (Eb,Ab,Db,Gb,Bb,Eb) 11-48 EB Power Slinky on the Dean. 13-56 Musicians Gear $2 strings on the Ovation. Two of the singers I play with want the 1/2 step down. The guitars are a bear to play if you tune em up to standard pitch. Taking a bit to get accustomed to mainly my ear. The upping of the string gauge helped the feel. The Dean truss rod had to be adjusted, but the Ovation seems to be fine with the heavier strings. Too many guitars required  :'(

Constantly tweaking everything and then nothing.
