White... Danny got the box of 64 colors I only got 8.

Didn't know much about him while he was alive but over the years I learned of him was blown away at his style.
Probably the most under-rated unknown player of all time. Outside of some circles and git players most have never heard of him. Shame... another R&R suicide.  :(

Carl Perkins and a little Merseybeat... then Clapton makes a brief appearance... I did say my exposure is somewhat limited...

This of course means that I'm hanging out for this one... :)

Well... I ran out of polish on this one so I put some lipstick and a wig on her.  :o
Steve helped me out again with some sweat and probably tears but he got through it.
Thanks Bro!
Suppose to be an older feel kind of tune... calling it "Where you from" as in your roots where do you come from.
As a kid growing up we had music in the house all the time usually some Motown sounds The Beatles or Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Frankie etc... but I remember vinyl and the needle and crackling coming through the speakers and then... music. Still what a joy to this day.
Anyway I wanted to capture some early days not always good... sometimes scary... but true and the things that bring you "The Blues". Just never gets old to me.

Where you from

Ever since i was a little one
The sound of music got me to the bone
I had some records and a phonograph
And I'd play that music in my room and let it blast

Everyday I couldn't wait to get home
The teacher couldn't teach the things I wanted to know
But I was learning from that old vinyl
Bout the Motown Rhythms and that Rock n Roll

And I'd dream all through the night
thinking about being a star
Got my Chuck Berry pose
doing the Duck Walk
on my knee's playing guitar

Now now now where do you come from
Said Now now now
hey little girl if you feel a little down come and get you some

Sally said she got some new albums
Badfinger and The Rolling Stones
So I went over and we wore them out
Yeah we played that music till the sun came up

But then I heard a little knock on the door
Her father walked in found us lying on the floor
I stood up but he knocked me back down
then he left the room shouting where'd I leave that gun

So I scrambled round the room running for the door
Fearing for my life
I headed down the alley
turned around to see
double barrel pointing right back at me

Now now now where did he come from
Said Now now now
hey little girl if you feel a little wrong don't let him bring you down

Now all that drama made me want to see a friend
The record store was right around the bend
The clerk said man what happen to you
I said I'll tell you man but you've got to play me some Blues
Yeah play me some Blues
play me some Blues
Yeah play me some Blues
play me some Blues

Fun one, nice work gents.  Liked the "woo-woo"s (I think that's what they were)...
A computer once beat me at chess - but as it turns out it was no match for me at kickboxing... ;)

I was hard work, wasn't I mate?

Too busy doin' my own thing with the BV and eventually got near it - I think Jeff gave up before I sent any more crap LOL!:)

All kidding aside, a fun tune. Next time, mate I'll aim for something tighter  ;D

Ha!
Steve you did fine! The song is missing something and I can't quite figure it out.  Usually just want to get it done and move on to the next.
I think it's part performance though... took me a few days to get a groove on the chords. Never seem to be able to play it twice the same way. So every take felt a little different. And I kept thinking horns should be blowing through parts but I couldn't get a decent sound on my Yamahoooo keyboard.
Ehhh no sweat... it's just adult refrigerator art.  :P

We aim... We shoot.... we hit the target! Maybe not a Bullseye but a decent effort and shot :D
Thanks again man!
On to "Wasted".... well that was the name of the song when I recorded it. Will be called "What do you know" when finished.
