The Epiphone Les Paul Special II!
Looks great, sounds fantastic!
Even when played by a hacker like me lol
The sustain on this thing is crazy!

Yeah New Gear!!
Love new gear, used gear, any kind as long as it's gonna make some music!!
I played one at GC a few times really decent guitar for the price. And it's solid mahogany? I know they have the locking bridge tail piece...  the guy was telling me. So when you restring it stays in place. Magnetic maybe... I'm a sucker for that Humbucker middle position on a LP love the tones. Similar tone on me Shearaton. Reminds me of Paigey.

Good for you Neil!
Merry Christmas!

Very cool!
How is the neck profile, 60s slim taper or 50s baseball bat? :)

It's supposed to be "slim 60's taper" but after my JT strat copy...it FEELS like a baseball bat :P
Just kidding...it's not that bad...but it is a little bigger lol

Plays real nice...and the sound is great :)

Now I've got $300 xmas money burning a hole in my pocket :P
It was a choice between this and Telecaster for christmas....now maybe I'll get my paws on a Telecaster or an electro acoustic :D

Nice score, Neilmac.  The elegance of basic black.  Congrats.  Heavy?

g

Depends what I'm playing :P :P
lmao

Seriously though....it's a little heavier than the strat copy...but lighter than the bass ;)
For the money it's an amazing guitar...highly recommended!

I did go look at some Telecasters....tried a Squier Custom (has P90 pickups)....what a piece of crap....it was terrible...fret ends were like razor blades(easily fixed I know...but for $270?? with all the other issues I don't think so)...just a bad guitar all round...very disappointed...
On the bright side I tried out an ESP LTD tele copy....now that was a nice guitar....humbucker at the neck and single coil at the bridge...just a little more than i wanted to spend ($369 CDN) or I would have taken it home right there and then :) The selector switch was also pretty noisy....but I could live with that since I'm not a gigging musician - no need for switching pickups mid song or anything.....

Still want to try out a Jay Turser (like my strat copy)...

So you could hear the sustain without touching it, then? :)

Absolutely!!
After I checked it out and put it back in the box before Xmas...I opened the box on Xmas Day and it was still ringing!!

I also picked that colour for a reason...I mean how much more black can it get?
None more black! :P

It's so black, light falls into it and never escapes.... that's what powers the sustain... ;)

Demonically possessed ............... We're on the phone with a manufacturer, just trying to figure out who to put a curse on the guitars. We're gonna paint em White! Fill the churches across the country , ............... hysterical laughter.
