That sounded awesome, my man! The tune too!!

More, more. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I love the way you play acoustic guitar.

Sounds like a masterbilt... you just upped your game! Nice clarity for a first go. I'm sure you'll tweak it to your liking... but it sounds really good to me ears.  8)

Well ...... my curse comes back LMAO  I just ordered a new acoustic ... a replacement Epipy ...why ? well my pinky keeps pulling the Hi E off the neck , most annoying so after looking at and playing another guitar I see there is more fingerboard space between the E string and the edge of the neck no finger fall off .

It looks like the neck is slightly narrower at the nut on that side . the nut and spacing looks good so replace and it's no hassle so hats off to GC

Also inside the body at the tail the binding wood reinforcement that covers the seam of the Mahogany back  running the middle of the body does not fully reach the tail or what I call the tail so I'll be happy to know the new one is correct once I saw it all I kept thinking was a possible split in the back from it not being there.

Hahahaha I'm such a nut  :P

Heel yeah they better replace it!  >:(  :o Buying used (like me) is one thing but new... it should be problem free. They come with a pretty good warrantee don't they?

My Honey Badger needs some work but she is used... it's expected!  :D

Hi folks received my new guitar and well there's some glitches LOL Yes I see every thing my mom says I should be a house inspector Hmmm ..... I could do that .
Anyway the new guitar has 2 issue's which most would not notice or if so consider minor . The first one being ... It looks like the finger board  is a tad to long or longer then the old one . I going to look online and see what I am seeing . hahaha ... that being the finger board being too long puts it closer to the sound hole which in turn takes mounting space a way from the second pick up leaving it hanging in air leaving very little contact area with the guitar .

My worries .. how the heck to keep it on should it let loose .

Number 2 is the finger board again ... most guitarist's want a nice true finger board this one is not as good as the original but very close. There is a little curve up in the neck/finger board at in the 1-3 fret on the 1st string or high E ... Ugh ! why do i see this stuff as sucky ?

I need to do a slight neck adjust and see what happens as of right now there is no interference from the imperfection a straight edge might show other wise.

Now the perks of said new guitar . Yes there seems to be a perk if you care about it . Whats the perk you ask ? ..... Well it seems that right out of the box I noticed the bridge was different it was darker I asked the guy to hold up the old one , he did and I said I'll be danged is that Ebony ? sure looks like it or it's very darkly stained rosewood I can not see a grain.

So I look at the finger board Hmmm ..... Also darker and not distinguishable grain pattern. I the guitar sitting between to 2 others with rosewood fingerboards and this is certainly different again could be a stain ? I don't know maybe it's stained anyway the darker look is nicer . :) oh and it sounds the same so al good there .

I need to post pics :)

When demand is high, quality goes in the toilet.

I remember looking at some guitars from Vietnam a couple years ago and was amazed at how ornate they were, but on close inspection they had slight imperfections. I resigned myself to thinking the plain Jane guitars are the best. Like the Yamaha we got from GC the detail is in the mechanics. That fella up in Asheville had one with no inlays, or binding and a slight roundover even  , but uh still $5000  :'(

PS the Ovation Celebrity we bought was perfect out of the box. Low end feedback is another story.

Very true Bri , But I wonder how they handle QC over there and sell here !

This guitar is going back . LMAO  I asked if I was being a pain too the manager he said we just want to make you happy ...... That's cool .  I told him that this time put me in a corner so I can go all through it at the store if this one is bad I said we'll just cancel the purchase and I'll  have to look upward for a better guitar .

in retro spec this is the 3rd one counting the one on the shelf they had I passed up. All part some one's plan ? if so their making me work for it or teaching me a lesson ! :)

Seems guitars lump into groups there's the $100-300 range $600-1000, and the $1000-5000.

What about $400-500 range. Uh maybe they are actually $250 guitars that by some mistake turned out better than they were supposed to be, but still $250 guitars. lol

All my guitars were handmade by somebody.  :P

Uh the best Martin in the Wests shop was a bit over $1,500 3 years ago lol

Ian a really bad alcoholic, but one of the finest street musicians in Asheville fell on his priceless Martin smashed it to bits. Then a month later while doing a combination of drugs and alcohol he jumped off the mountain, he survived. Wes's Cheap Yamaha FG700S just keeps sounding better and better. lol

Forgot to mention before jumping off the mountain he got naked and rolled around in the campfire.

Well I'm back ... Have the new guitar gunna keep this one , is it perfect  .......  no !  tad bit of wave on the neck 12th fret but no issues just visual if your looking hard , and a lacquer drip on the binding at the same place .

Action is better on this one still a little confused on the Rosewood finger board and bridge . Bridge looks like Ebony finger board looks lighter then the other one but still not sure .

Most ebony has lighter veins and colors now do to over farming the old growth trees.  >:( :(  and hey they just made it this guitar to it still smells like Elmer's glue ... LOL

Thanks Frankenxtein.

Here's a little piece showing some of the Harmonics it's a little sloppy and I think I had a take or 2 that the Harmonics shined a little brighter this sounds some what dull but my boy let the dog in and was knocking everything over around me and woke the wife up LOL and no not an excuse  but i was not gunna do anymore takes her look told me that ! hahahaha

Um there are no effects plugged straight in .... But Check it out in head phones unless the speakers pick it out but I am using both outputs/ pick ups into a stereo track instead of using one output with the combined pick ups mono. kind of Cool how they work together though the Nano mag is much hotter had to adjust the level.

That sounds very nice, seems to suit your playing style very well. A nice balanced sound.

What kind of mics and placement did you use, buddy?

shoot really I just played it and it was fine another TTM glitch LOL new upload

Ok just listened to both Downloads and they both are complete so try again LOL

Or I using the the MXL V63M condenser which in fact is better then I have thought ( pre-amps ! ) and the my new Blue Spark .

Both mics 2 feet away and spaced 1.5 ft apart

MXL pointed at the sound hole right side

Spark is  pointed at the 7th fret but 10 '' below guitar fret board .

I say on the track that is just the way I set it but after thinking about it ....... The blue is more responsive in all area's

I'm getting the hots  for blue !  (But do not kick the MXL to the curb for any reason this mic is cheap and kicks ass w/pre-amps )  LOL  so setting the Blue low in both area's below the twelfth fret and 10 inches below the fret board and  being a lazy spot to set it worked out well . :)

Consider it one type of mic set up LOL :):)
