CHOPSTICK FOLK RHYTHM COMBO
« on: September 28, 2010, 10:36:30 PM »
OK, I must be spending too much time in the shop ;D.  I was making a Diddley Bow last week and went looking for something to use as a part I needed.  While searching boxes, bins, shelves and drawers I came across a stack of 6" wide round weights from an old desk lamp base.  I polished one on the buffer and the Chopstick Combo was born.   8)  Here is a demo, it's kinda long as I posted as a music video for my subscribers.  The Diddley Bow is almost done, or at least the prototype.  I do have a demo vid for this I got to edit.
Love and Peace

PARTS LIST

ONE 6" LAMP WEIGHT
TWO WOODEN SALAD "MONKEYPOD" SALAD BOWLS FROM THRIFT SHOP
TWO OLD DRUM STICKS ALSO FROM THRIFT SHOP
ONE PIECE OF 2"X4" REDWOOD SALVAGED FROM AN OLD GOAT BARN
TWO BAMBOO CHOPSTICKS FROM FAVORITE CHINESE RESTRAUNT
ONE BAMBOO SHISHCABOB STICK

TOTAL COST ABOUT TWO BUCKS

LOL....  That is great Butch! Next time, put a black suit on, and you'll look like you are in Duke Ellington's Band  :P   Or, put them white duds on you were wearin for the end...  Great sales potential....

Hey B, You know I may just have to do that LOL.  I do have the white dinner dress jacket with black tux pants outfit in a suitbag in the closet.  Haven't worn in years.  Bow tie and cumberbun too.  or maybe my bib coveralls and the white jacket LOL.  I listed this one on eBay last evening.  Going to be interesting to see how it goes.

I hear this crazy folk-percussionist guy in Florida has got Ginger Baker thinking twice about doing a come-back tour for fear of paling into insignificance... :o

Hey Schprocket,  I actually met Ginger Baker in London in the early 70's at Abbey Road!  Wait till you see the Diddley Bow, LOL.

Yea Big B, gotta get some face paint and white gloves too. LOL
