The effects of phrasing (video link)
« on: August 08, 2009, 05:23:22 AM »
I posted this over at Musicians Collaboration Studio too:

I just came across this site:

The site is in German, but the videos are English (and you should be able to find them on YouTube too).

Quick translation of the description given on the site:

In this master class of the Berklee School of Music Pat Pattison lectures about phrasing in general and the interdependencies between rhythmic and melodic phrasing. A singer plays her song on the guitar and sings, while Pat continuously makes and explains suggestions about phrasing. The singer tries to put these suggestions into practice, so the audience can easily understand what Pat Pattison talks about. Some astonishing insights into the effects of phrasing.

This is really interesting, sto, thanks.  Back to look some more...
A computer once beat me at chess - but as it turns out it was no match for me at kickboxing... ;)

Way beyond my level, but interesting nevertheless.
