I'm going to start putting out songs that are all sung completely off key, hopefully it catches on... 8)

It's Saturday night, I'm feeling a little frisky, and I think I'm going to jump on 9 and S's bandwagon just one time tonight.  Later, when the dogs are asleep... ;)

You could always join Dave2lon and me over here, you guys...  ::)

Pick whichever part you wanna do (there's about five sections to the song).
The MIDI's at the top, along with the tempo and key, and there's a few vocal stems from Dave and myself further down the thread ;)

Oh no you don't, S, not falling for that one.  I'm bad enough by myself when there aren't real singers in there making me sound even worse.  If it weren't Saturday night and I weren't feeling frisky, I wouldn't do it anyway.  Just can't let you guys have all the fun... ;)

Could be an interesting trend.  I can move up a semi-tone here and there but that's all :) :) ;D

:D  I'd feel like a real singer if I only moved a semi-tone, Dino.  I can drop two octaves, three keys, move up a semi-tone, and go flat all at the same time.  And usually do... :D

Hey, don't think you're gonna slip away unnoticed either, pal.

I'm sure you could have some fun with "You Know My Name", as well... ;)

Just whom art thou refering to my good man. I know S would agree (maybe), 'real singers - apart from Dino - are short on the ground around here. Speaking personally, I am always grateful just to stay in tune. My wife's always telling me I'm not singing the right tune. She says I'm on key but it's the wrong note (she's a choirperson). I have a theory whiuch I exscuse myself with. If it don't break too many ears and I've enjoyed it....that's fine.
S - I was waiting for a couple more to join in on YKMN before using your excellent base track.
I figure that if everyone just did the whole track and sent their own vocal to you. You could do a master like Joom did with 'Amarillo' picking the best bits out for inclusion. Should be reasonably easy unless you are busy with other things - in which case - give a holler and I am only too willing to help.

And therein lies the rub, Way2, it's that whole staying in tune thing.  Can't do it, Son. :D

Forgot about YKMN, been so stinkin busy with stuff.  Where's that at now?

Seriously J-man A bass player from a band called 'Little Rock' here in the  UK said this to me when I said the very same thing to him

Can't do it
. He said, "It's the easy part man, just stay in tune".
It sounded so simple to me but I thgought about it and it worked (sort of). Working on diction and harmony now.
Let's see if it works for you. That's easy - just stay in tune.

:D  I'd love to, Way2, but unless there's a town call Tune I'm afraid I won't be staying there.  Been trying that for longer than most of the people here have been alive (except you old man ;) ).

I made a whole band stop playing once just by stepping up to the mic.  It was one of the locals I used to manage 3-4 lifetimes ago.  The singer was having trouble with vocal timing at a practice session, so I stepped up to show him how it was done.  Two lines in the band quit playing and refused to continue till I quickly and quietly stepped away from the mic.  They were yankin my chain a little (they always drank and got a little too rowdy at practice), but it made for a good story from then on.

It was the night, I drove old dixie down.......right into the ground. ;D

"an' all the people ('cept JooM) were singin',
They went,
"Shaa lala laa lalaa
Lala lala la la lalalaaaa""

I like that Joan Baez track.
Didn't the US media make her out to be an idiot during the 70's (not unlike Cher in the 80's) and it took her some time to recover, or did she do it to herself?

I thought she was great too.  There were a ton of great female singers back then, too many to start naming names...
